Fred Blaney, Former Assistant Deputy Minister of Partnerships New Brunswick and President of the New Brunswick Highway Corporation
Fred received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1978. He has worked in all aspects of Transportation Infrastructure Delivery as a Government Representative.
Mr. Blaney was the Project Director for the Fredericton to Moncton Highway Project a 200 km DBFOM valued at $900 million, which opened in 2001, as well as the Strategic Advisor to the City of Saint John for the Safe Clean Drinking Water Project.
Over his career, he has been the project manager for the Operation of the Fredericton to Moncton Highway Project; the Trans Canada Highway Project, a 275 km DBFOM Project valued at $750 million, which opened on November 1, 2007; and, the Fundy Isles Ferry Project, a DBFOM Project for the Supply of three new Ferries and their operation.
Mr. Blaney was the Executive Director of Engineering Services responsible for the Provincial Program Delivery from 2007-2009, and he is the former Assistant Deputy Minister of Partnerships N.B. responsible for all Department of Transportation P3 Projects and providing advisory services to the Province of N.B. and other clients.
Additionally, Fred is an olympian in the Sport of Judo, representing Canada at the 1984 Los Angeles Games and continue to be involved as a coach, International Referee and a Director of the Canadian Olympic Committee.
Mr. Blaney lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick with his wife, Mary and their two children, Alexander and Andrew.
